Dynamic Hieroglyphic of the Bal Tabarin
Gino Sererini
Oil on Canvas with sequins
1912
- I feel like the painting is representing the fact that even all messed up and disassembled, we can still see the beauty of things. And it may not be forefront but all things have unique qualities of them. For instance, when I first saw this I didn't like it, but the more I stared at it, I loved it.
- Verbal supplements such as the words bowling, and a woman riding the scissors, also people to be what appears dancing and having fun.
- The painting was made out of oil on canvas with sequins placed on it. it was very detailed and the pieces strategically placed in a way that we can still understand the story.
- The content of the painting I think is the story of maybe what he experienced in his life, using the bright colors.
- In the scale aspect of the piece, it looks as if, it was mounted on a table and he stood over it very closely to get every piece right.
8. From this time period I've never seen an artwork like this, its very modern in a sense, but also very conservative to ones culture.
9. I don't think this piece is very traditional.
For some reason I don't feel the other questions don't apply, I would like to further discuss this in class.
